Leach And Septic system
At PJ Consultants we use only the best quality leach drain components available, after all, these drains must keep functional for the life of your new house. Our local suppliers supply us with a modular reinforced segment system which, unlike its pvc and brick counter parts, is trafficable to light vehicles, thus making the space required for the drains functional and not a total waste.
The standard leach and septic system consists of
· 1 x 1500mm x 1500mm septic tank & standard covers (for solids)
· 1 x 1200mm x 1500mm septic tank & standard covers (Liquid tank)
· 2 x 13.2 m Modular type leach drains
· 2 x Blank ends
· 2 X 100mm entry ends
· Weed mat or filter wrap to cover both drains, (some drains are louvred and only the joins require matting.
If for some reason the standard leach and septic system is not quite right for you we are happy to help design a system/package that best suits your needs, as well as helping you to submit septic plans to your shire and complete connection of your leach drains to the septic tanks* Because we are a family owned and run business your salesman is also your installer with over 30 years of experience.
Leach drains are used to dispose of the effluent from septic tank systems. Routine simple maintenance will help ensure that the surrounding soil does not become overloaded or clogged. If this happens, effluent is less able to freely soak into the soil and then begins to accumulate in the leach drain. This can cause the effluent to surface around the drain or soak well and also back up into household pipes.
To improve the operation and longevity of leach drains, new systems are required to be alternating. This allows each section to be rested as effluent is diverted to the other leach drain or soak well area.
System installations are only permitted with local government or Department of Health approval (the Department of Health assesses larger development proposals).
*connection is between tanks and leach drains with one diverter installed only, connection from house to first tank must be installed by a licensed plumber.
